Crafting Beautiful Spaces and Surfaces

Artistic Stone Design (ASD)

Artistic Stone Design (ASD) specializes in custom fabricated stone for any project large or small. We work with only the highest quality materials and our team of design, fabrication, and installation professionals offer the very best in craftsmanship, timely delivery, and exceptional customer service. Our clients are the sole basis of our existence and as the quality of the finished project lies greatly with the fabricator, we are passionate about what we do and our entire team takes great pride in their work. We listen to the needs of our clients, and through our professionalism and dedication, we make their projects come to life.

Our process will begin by selecting your material and edge profile. We have a wide variety of quartz and granite available in-house. However, if you can’t find what you’re looking for there, we have various off-site suppliers close by as well. It is helpful to bring any sample of objects such as cabinet doors, tiles, wallpapers, or paint chips to determine the colour and style that will best suit the design you are after. Once your material and edge profile have been selected, a contract will be signed outlining all the details discussed and agreed upon and a 60% deposit will be required.

Our Process

  • Prior to Templating

A template is a digital layout of your countertop. An Artistic Stone Design (ASD) representative will come to your home and use a laser templator to take precise measurements of your custom countertop. All cabinets, fillers, and gables must be completely installed and in their permanent positions prior to templating. Your sink, stove, and faucet should also be onsite to ensure all measurements are accurate.

During this process, the homeowner or designated decision-maker over the age of 18 must be present. This is the time when all the information including bump-outs, overhangs, and radius corners will be discussed and confirmed.

  • Fabrication

Once your template is complete and, if necessary, your drawings confirmed, your project moves into fabrication. The stone is cut and fabricated to the precise specifications of your custom project. Your representative will contact you within a week of templating to confirm an installation date.

We understand that when undertaking a new project, its timely completion is of great concern to the clients. Our expert team works with you and comes up with a practical timeline for project completion and follows through with that to bring your vision to life.

  • Prior to Installation

If there is an existing countertop in place, it must be removed prior to our installation unless we have agreed to do so during our contract meeting. It is imperative to have your sink, faucet, and stove completely disconnected. If additional supports were discussed during your template, ensure they are in place.

Prepare the site for installation. Ensure the installers have a clear path to move quickly and without injury. Stone countertops can weigh anywhere between 100 and 600 lbs. It is also important that our workmen leave their safety shoes on at all times. During inclement weather, you may want to protect your floors with cardboard or an alternative non-slip covering.

Once your installation is complete, please allow all under-mount sinks to set for 24 hours prior to reconnecting the plumbing.
